How You Can Help

S.H.A.R.E. is managed and operated 100% by volunteers and we are always looking for additional help. There are many ways in which you can volunteer, some are listed below:

  • Organize and help out at our weekly & monthly adoption events
  • Transport dogs to and/or from adoption events, shelters and vets
  • Assist with marketing and fundraising
  • Coordinate donations
  • Meet with potential adopters and fosters
  • Conduct home visits
  • Volunteers under 18 years old:
Those wishing to volunteer must have a parent complete the volunteer application and sign a waiver form. All volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent at all times during events. Parents are solely responsible for the safety of their child.

Fostering A German Shepherd

Interested in volunteering for S.H.A.R.E. by fostering one of our great German Shepherds? It’s simple to become a foster family, just fill out our foster application. We offer community service hours for middle or high school students that help care for a foster dog.

Fostering a S.H.A.R.E dog is one of many rewarding ways in which you can volunteer to help improve the lives of our dogs. Fostering gives our dogs an opportunity to be in a loving home until we find them a forever family. Being in a home environment increases their chances of getting adopted sooner. It’s also a great solution for dogs with kennel stress or other special needs. All we ask is you treat your foster dog as though they were one of your own by providing:

  • Loving Care
  • Shelter
  • Food
  • Affection
  • Basic Training (Sit, Stay, Down, No Jumping, Leash Walking, Socialize with People & Dogs, Etc.)
  • Other General Care

Medical expenses will be covered by S.H.A.R.E during the foster period, with prior approval. Foster families may also be asked to bring their foster dog to adoption events, or make the dog available to prospective adopters. Fostering will change the life of your foster dog FUREVER!
